Sr. Business Analyst (Data warehouse or ETL)

Business / systems analyst in jacksonville, fl-must have business intelligence or data warehousing experienceGENERAL DESCRIPTION The business analyst is responsible for understanding business problems and opportunities in the context of the requirements and recommending business intelligence (BI) solutions that enable the organization to achieve its goals.  The business analyst will serve as the primary liaison between business users and the business intelligence/data warehousing team to analyze and document business and user needs, document requirements and resolve moderately complex system problems.   KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Requirements Gathering and Scoping·  Participate in defining the project scope and implementation roadmap·  Work closely with business users to capture business needs- Capture requirements for data, reports, analyses, metadata, training, service levels, data quality, and performance- Analyze requirements and construct appropriate business model for queries, reports and data delivery- Specify data access and delivery requirements- Determine impact to existing business processes or systems·  Recommend appropriate scope of requirements·  Provide input into the creation of detailed project plans, work assignments, target dates and other aspects of assigned projects. ·  Provide guidance and context in prioritizing and determining complexity of problems and requests.  Design and Development·  Create guidelines for business user interfaces·  Understand and define business user tools requirements·  Work with architects to translate requirements into technical specifications·  Work with application designers and developers during design and prototyping - Coordinate the user interface requirements with application developers- Participate and coordinate prototype reviews ·  Assist in the evaluation, testing and procurement of tools for the business users·  Champion the business users interests in the development process·  Work with programmers and user to ensure accuracy of delivered solution·  Validate that data warehouse meets requirements and service level agreements Data Architecture & Requirements·  Assist the data architects and data analysts in logical and physical data modeling ·  Work with data stewards and analysts to identify data sourcing and translation requirements ·  Develop business rules to properly cleanse and process data·  Participate in logical and physical model reviews End-User Support·  Support development and execution of User Acceptance Test (UAT)·  Serve as subject matter expert (SME) in training support staff on BI solutions REQUIRED SKILLS·  Strong interpersonal and communications skills·  Understanding of business process and workflow management·  Ability to identify potential solutions and assess technical and business suitability ·  Document functional requirements and determine complexity of work·  Ability to translate business requirements into technical requirements·  Expertise with Office programs (Word, Excel, and so on).   DESIRED SKILLS·  Experience using data warehouse or analytical tools for business purposes·  Knowledge of key data warehousing processes·  Knowledge of data modeling (ErWin) & ETL·  Understanding of project management, including Microsoft Project    Status: Full Time, Employee Location: Jacksonville, FL Salary: 45.00 - 55.00 USD /hour Job Category: IT/Software Development Career Level: Experienced (Non-Manager)
