Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE:Senior Mechanical Design Engineer DEPARTMENT (Name and Number):R&D  FLSA/LABOR CODE:  Exempt  X  Non-Exempt  ‘Hourly ‘  Direct Labor ‘ Indirect Labor ‘ REPORT TO: R&D DirectorDIVISION/LOCATION:Southborough JOB CODE/EEO CODE/JOB GRADE (To be completed by HR)  PURPOSE/SUMMARY (Brief overview of why job exists, general purpose for position) We are seeking a high-performing individual to join our team in designing and developing new products (imaging systems, endoscopes) from concept thru market introduction.  The desired individual will possess a broad range of medical device design and development skills and experience, as well as depth of knowledge in several clinical, product and technical areas.  The successful candidate will have a history of delivering results, be highly motivated and be self directed. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (List of 8 – 10 key tasks required of the job which occupy greater than 5% of the incumbents time)  Mechanical design of new products (Imaging systems, endoscopes) and improvements of current designs utilizing Solid Works. Provide existing product support. Provide product development requirements including drawings, interpretation of requirements, and documentation. Estimate project costs. Perform complex activities relating to the building, testing and evaluation of mechanical device systems. Write and develop product specification, testing protocols and associated device documentation. Perform design analysis (tolerance stack-ups), risk analysis and project cost estimates. Interface with vendors in component and process design. Comply with regulatory requirements, including company design control procedures. All Other Essential Duties as directed. SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES (IF ANY) – Optional section (List of subordinate jobs for which this job has direct hire/discipline/budget responsibility) ·  Supervisory experience preferred. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
