We currently have an exciting position in Dublin, CA for a Sr. Product Marketing Manager .

 

JOB SUMMARY:

The Sr. Product Marketing Manager is responsible for global market planning and promotion of the assigned product with the goal of achieving planned revenue and profit targets.  Taking a customer-focused approach, the Senior Product Manager actively looks for continuous product improvements and creates and implements a long-term plan to sustain the product life cycle.  The Senior Product Manager is expected to be the hub of all activities surrounding the product, including annual promotional plans, product development and product enhancement.  The Senior Product Manager is the guarantor of customer satisfaction for the assigned product.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Launch new products, next generation products, and product enhancements so that the product is continuously changing to meet market needs.Create and implement the annual marketing plan.Create and implement the long-term product strategy, including product enhancements and new product development.Work closely with R&D to shepherd the product enhancement/new product development process.Continuously monitor market needs and customer acceptance through sales force contact, customer visits, attending key congresses and meetings, and conducting primary and secondary market research.Monitor sales and profits and report on product line performance to management, utilize sales analysis skills to understand and report on product and market dynamics.Plan and manage the product line marketing budget.Forecast sales for manufacturing and financial planning.Understand market dynamics and recommend pricing strategy.Have intimate knowledge of the sales process for the assigned product and provide critical sales tools.Develop and implement the promotional plans and materials including: exhibits, advertising, product literature, speakers, AV and multi-media materials, web marketing, etc.Develop and support industry luminaries to enhance product acceptance and sales.Analyze competitive products and incorporate competitive strategies into promotional and product development plans to stay ahead of the competition.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

The employee reports to the Group Product Manager or Director. The individual works closely with the other Marketing staff, Engineering, Finance, Manufacturing, Marketing Communications, Sales and Carl Zeiss Meditec’ customers.





REQUIREMENTS:Undergraduate degree, preferably in engineering, marketing, or life sciences.  MBA or advanced degree is required.Previous product launch experience.Six to ten (6-10) years marketing experience, previous medical device experience.Knowledge and experience in the product development process. Excellent oral presentation and written communications skills. Experienced knowledge of spreadsheet financial analysis, word processing and presentation software.Good analytical skills and ability to manage and work cross-functionally.

SPECIAL DEMANDS:Willing to travel over weekends and holidays, US and international travel (25%).Ability to work in a multi-cultural business environment, foreign language skills are desirable.Ability to lift and move products (up to 50 lbs).
