Business Intelligence Solutions Architect:

The Business Intelligence (BI) Solutions Architect is primarily responsible for the design and architecture of the BI technical environment servicing the Clinical Technologies and Services enterprise.  The Architect will serve as the technical expert for the BI infrastructure stack, working with other Information Technology groups to create, maintain and support an efficient, scalable and optimal BI reporting environment. This includes understanding, creating and championing BI standards and practices, maintaining the security model, troubleshooting performance and other issues as they arise and recommending various strategies and solutions to ensure that the environment remains optimal.

Additionally, the Business Intelligence Architect/Developer will participate in the design and development of BI reports and universes, working closely with business users to define their reporting requirements. Web Intelligence, OLAP Intelligence, Crystal Reports and other tools in the Business Objects (BO) suite will be employed as appropriate.

Specific Duties, Activities, and Responsibilities: Ensure maximum business continuity is achieved for business intelligence platform – through design and architecture of BO technical platform. Alignment with business analysts to ensure the availability of BI solutions in order to improve information based decision making. Maintain ownership and responsibility over the security, validity, and integrity of the Clinical Technologies and Services data mart(s). Oversee development by conducting design reviews ensuring alignment with overall BI architecture and standards. Mentor and manage appropriate support personnel ensuring adequate backfill and business continuity (risk management).

III.  Position Requirements:

Education or Equivalent: Minimum required in performing job. BS in technology related field; MS preferred

Experience or Equivalent: Minimum required in performing job. 6-8 years experience in analyzing, designing, developing, planning, recommending and implementing enterprise systems and BI solutions Strong experience with enterprise level Business Objects deployments, upgrades and conversions Must be experienced with troubleshooting Business Objects issues Strong hands-on development experience with Business Objects universes and reports in an enterprise environment, preferably with BO XI utilizing Crystal Reports, WebIntelligence, OLAP Intelligence, Dashboard Builder, Performance Manager, and business views desirable Strong SQL skills Knowledge of data warehousing architectures Excellent analytical skills
