Sr. Storage & Virtualization Administrator

The Senior Storage/Virtualization Administrator In addition will participate and lead the analysis, requirements definition, implementation and support of Align Technology’s current SAN based environment.  This includes multiple Network Appliance filers and Brocade SAN switches distributed across multiple data centers in disbursed geographic regions.  All design, support and maintenance activities will be drive through this position. VMWare and other virtualization derivatives will be an additional focal point for this position.  This position will design, implement and support Aligns current and future state virtualization initiatives.  This position will influence and collaborate with the Systems Administration team to ensure that all project and task level activities occur within specified timeframes.  Quality is essential in all areas, as the Storage and Virtualized environments will support all Development, Stage, Pre-Production and Production environments.  This position will interface with all members of the IT staff, Development and Quality Assurance teams. Duties and Responsibilities:
• Demonstrate and articulate domain expertise related to NAS/SAN and Virtualization disciplines.
• Proactively perform GAP analysis on existing processes and determine the path to resolution as they relate to the NAS/SAN and Virtualized environments.
• Demonstrate and share domain expertise to educate the surrounding team members to increase the collective knowledge of the team.
• Support and be responsive to off-hours emergencies and activities.
• Engage external business partners while developing and vetting business requirements needed to shape Storage and Virtualization implementations.
• Identify GAPS in current processes as they apply to the environment that this position supports and maintains; then update and maintain the process documentation.
• Continue to refine and drive processes based in best practices.
• Educate staff members within the IT team and provide quarterly updates on issues found and resolved within the Storage and Virtualized environment.
• Have the ability to support remote offices which utilize Storage and virtualized environments implemented by this position. Education and Experience:
• A BS in CS or Information Systems.
• 7-10 + years of hands on technical experience with core experience around Network Appliance filers, OnTap operating system, SAN based storage. 
• 2–3 years of hands on experience designing, deploying and maintaining virtualized environments; in particular VMWare environments. 
• Demonstrate increasing levels of responsibility and achievement throughout their professional employment history. 
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to perform under pressure situations, while developing sound implementation approaches which solve the business problem or environment which they support.
• Industry standard SAN/NAS certifications, along with successful completion of VMWare certified training.
