Sr Systems Engineer

Provide technical support and expertise on regional & global computing issues, with concentration in server hardware, server software, and storage systems. Design server based solutions to business problems and design the server infrastructure to support various line of business applications. Develop and execute project plans that apply information technologies to business problems. Assist in the system design, evaluation, recommendation, and implementation of hardware and software for server based solutions. Perform systems integration activities. Understands and can support all layers of multi tier applications (Web based or Client Server) Provide 3rd level technical assistance to the Operations and PC Service Desk as needed. Responsible for maintaining network servers, operating systems, and disaster recovery plans. Other duties as assigned. Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer or equivalent B.A. or B.S. degree or equivalent Microsoft Internet Information Server as well as non-Microsoft web server (Tomcat, WebLogic) experience. Microsoft SQL Server 2000 or 2005 experience Ability to deal with all levels of personnel throughout the company, outside vendors and suppliers. At least eight years of technical experience including combination of hardware and software. Comprehension of software programming concepts and the ability to perform scripting. Technical project management experience. Must have strong written and oral communications skills, high analytical skills, and the ability to deal with people effectively. The candidate must exhibit a high level of technical proficiency and experience. This is a senior level position and therefore the candidate must be able to work on advanced IT projects from the start. Position requires that a candidate be available after hours or on weekends to provide remote and on site technical support, systems upgrades, and project work as needed. HPUX knowledge a plus Oracle running on HPUX a plus
