Position Description:
This position is assigned to responsibilities on medium sized projects. Specifically, manage automated manufacturing projects for corporate Sterile Disposable (SD) production facilities in support of new product introductions and rapid growth of existing products. Lead implementation of medium to high complex manufacturing solutions in pursuit of improved process control, increased throughput/productivity and reduced manufacturing cost.Primary Responsibilities:1. Identify automated manufacturing solutions applicable for our SD corporate production facilities with particular focus on high volume production lines. Automated solutions include all aspects of the manufacturing process (extrusion, assembly, test/inspection, packaging, etc.).2. Work concurrently with our Strategic Business Units and Manufacturing Plants to identify next-generation equipment and automation opportunities that are required to support MEDRAD's long-term capability/capacity needs. 3. Define and document technical requirements associated with automated manufacturing projects. Prepare comprehensive project proposals including capital, expense, manpower and schedule estimates with a clear map to the long-term business impact.4. Lead implementation of medium to high complex automated manufacturing technologies. Manage collaboration and teamwork between external automation development partners, internal operations staff and manufacturing plant members to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget and with minimal production impact.5. Defines requirements for design elements and architecture of complex designs at the sub-module design element level.6. Responsible for design and integration of medium to high complexity design elements.7. Understands and applies knowledge of product line and clinical applications to work activities, and to support new products or processes.8. Understands relevant processes required to accomplish objectives.9. Leads design reviews of complex designs at the sub-module level.1. Experience developing automated manufacturing solutions for high-volume operations with project technical leadership experience required. Experience with automated assembly of complicated disposable medical tube sets is highly desired.2. Direct experience within the medical device industry is strongly preferred. 3. Experience with Ultrasonic Welding, Solvent, UV bond and other assembly methods preferred. PLC and Vision system experience preferred.4. Able to provide valuable "design for automation" feedback to the team early within the product development cycle.5. Recommended 4+ years experience and recognized as an expert within a technical discipline and significant depth in multiple technical specialties.6. Bachelor’s Degree (ME or EE)7. Proven evolution of engineer’s knowledge to include real-world understanding across breadth of discipline.8. Proven in-depth knowledge of subtleties and pitfalls in one or more areas of expertise within a technical discipline.9. Proven basic knowledge of other technical disciplines.10. Proven ability to apply basic tools and technologies to complex problems typically involving a multidisciplinary approach.11. Proven ability to demonstrate analytical capabilities (including modeling, simulation, statistical analysis, analytical design tools, etc.).12. Working knowledge and proven skills of PC computer operating system including Microsoft office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and CAD packages (ProEngineer, Solidworks or AutoCad).13. Strong competency in Customer Focus, Driving for Results, Integrity and Trust, Ethics and Values and Compassion. 14. Proven ability to demonstrate at minimum, MEDRAD’s Team Contributor competencies: Action Oriented, Perseverance, Dealing with Ambiguity, Learning on the fly and Problem Solving.
