Smiths Medical develops and manufactures medical products used during critical and intensive care, surgery, post-operative care during recovery, and in a series of high-end home infusion therapies. With a strong presence in St. Paul, Minnesota, we have an outstanding opportunity for a talented Supply Planning Manager.

With proven managerial/leadership skills in a multi-facility planning environment, the successful candidate for this dynamic position will be responsible for leading the Supply Planning function within the US Supply Chain organization, including ensuring proper supply (inventory) requirements of finished goods in support of Smiths global product needs. The department works directly with specific Smiths manufacturing sites and is responsible for the conversion of demand forecasts to supply plans/schedule requirements, balancing inventory and customer service objectives. If you are selected to fill this dynamic role, you will interact daily with planners located in multiple geographic sites (including Mexico), as well engage in broad business involvement with key stakeholders at all levels including Director/VP in Marketing, Product Development, Operations, Customer Service, QA/RA. The Supply Planning Manager will also work closely with international planning organizations to help develop an effective Global Supply Planning team and maintain and publish key metrics such as Backorder Report, Inventory Report and others as identified.

Qualifications include:

•  Bachelor's degree and 10 or more years work experience in a similar field, preferably within the medical device industry.

• Demonstrated performance in managing planning resources, ERP planning, supplier and project management required.

• Strong knowledge of ERP planning systems/processes in a complex supply chain environment.

• Thorough knowledge of manufacturing information systems and manufacturing processes, products, equipment and procedures.

• Established knowledge of FDA and ISO requirements and their application in manufacturing.

• Proven ability to lead and manage multiple projects of significant scope simultaneously.

• Human Resources management skills to effectively manage the selection, training and development, appraisal, and feedback of employees.

• Financial knowledge and skill to perform financial analyses.

• Strategic and operational planning experience and skill.

• Demonstrated effective verbal/written communication skills to interact with organizations outside of the US.

• Proven ability to work collaboratively with individuals and in cross-functional teams located in separate geographic regions.

• Ability to handle and work under stressful situations.
