Aesculap, Inc., has an excellent opportunity for Surgical Sales Rep for our Little Rock territory.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: Responsible for contributing to the Company's strategic objectives of revenue growth, market leadership and quality customer service through the sale of Aesculap products to targeted accounts, and the development of new customers in assigned territory. Exceed established sales objectivesSPECIFIC DUTIES:• Calls on customers and prospects; provides technical, marketing and administrative product information and demonstrations; quotes appropriate customer prices. Particular focus on large potential accounts and other contracted accounts, spending approximately 80% (1-4 hours with each) of work time meeting with them - usually in a hospital setting.• Responds to customer needs, requirements and problems in accordance with Company policy, and acts as liaison between customer and Surgical Business Unit, Customer Service, and Credit departments at Aesculap.• Remains informed of new products and other general information of interest to customers; monitors and gathers information on competitive activity.• Develops relationships with surgeons and other appropriate personnel within Target accounts.• Maintains account records and reports activities and submits as required by the Company.• Manage and submit sales expenses in accordance with budget and company policy.* Acts as liaison between customer and Marketing, Customer Service, and Credit departments at Aesculap.* Monitors and gathers information on competitor activity.* Completes special projects as assigned.JOB LEVEL:Applies fundamental sales knowledge requirements with Aesculap's sales philosophy to promote and complete product sales.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:• B.A./B.S. in Business/Marketing or Biological/Physiological Sciences.• Two years of successful sales experience, preferably in the medical products industry.• • Account management skills, which include problem solving, customer relations, and budgeting activities.• Excellent organizational, oral, and written communication skills. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:• Must work out of home with flexible daily hours. However, a minimum 40-hour workweek is required. Telephone communication is required for approximately one hour per day (including time on car phone). A home computer, not provided by Aesculap, is required.• Frequent automobile travel - approximately two hours of driving per day (average) and approximately 500 miles per week. Will spend 30% of time sitting (including driving and meeting time) and the rest on foot. Must have and maintain a valid driver license and be able to provide proof of insurability.• Must be able to lift and carry literature bag (minimum 15 lbs.) and Sample Instrument Kit (minimum 20 lbs.) to bring to customers. Additional weight may be added at Sales Rep's discretion.• This position requires the handling of instruments that may have been contaminated by blood or other bodily fluids. In compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations, Aesculap will provide a safe working environment for all employees.SUPERVISION:Normally receives no instruction on routine sales calls. Maintains communication with Regional Sales Director.
