The Systems Engineer- Unified Messaging position is responsible for administration of the AMS messaging and collaboration infrastructure.  This position is also involved in the administration of Intel based hardware, virtualization, and operating system infrastructure.  This individual must have strong interpersonal skills, organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks, excellent writing skills, and ability to work with peers inside and outside of the Information Technology organization.  A thorough working knowledge of Windows 2000/2003, Microsoft Exchange, and Active Directory is required. 

Roles and Responsibilities

 

·  Responsible for the design, implementation and ongoing administration of the messaging and collaboration infrastructure, including Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Live Communication Server, Cisco Unity, Cisco MeetingPlace, Symantec Enterprise Vault, Captaris RightFax, and Goodlink / Blackberry remote email services.

·  Provide administration support for collaborative web portals.

·  Responsible for the ongoing management and administration of the AMS Active Directory environment.

·  Share in the system administration group’s responsibility for managing the servers and systems within the AMS computing environment.

·  Detect, diagnose, report and fix problems with technical systems.

·  Follow technology trends to provide solution recommendations.

·  Facilitate or addresses end-user issues.

·  Work with other IT groups and business units to install, configure, and document software applications used by AMS.

·  Serve as a project lead or technical lead on project teams as required.

·  Develop and maintain documentation on architecture, configuration, policies, procedures, and processes.

·  Provide utilization reports to management including analysis of usage of operating systems and applications.

·  Consistently seeks to optimize system configuration and performance.

·  Identifies and implements IT controls in support of regulatory requirements.

·  Participate in 24/7 on-call support.

·  Participate in annual disaster recovery testing.

·  Must be able to travel independently, both domestic and international.
