TRAINING MANAGER

POSITION SUMMARY

To plan, develop, implement and manage activities associated with training and development within the organization. The programs would include but are not limited to quality control, safety/OSHA, work measurement, human resources, manufacturing methods, and supervisory development.

 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Research, plan, organize, and conduct training programs, seminars, and conferences for clerical, supervisory, technical, production, manufacturing, and lower-level management personnel.  This includes all FDA, OSHA, and Teleflex required programs.

· Formulate teaching outline and determine instructional methods such as individual training, group instruction, lectures, demonstrations, conferences, meetings and workshops.

· Write material for new training programs; review, evaluate, and modify existing and proposed programs; recommend appropriate changes.

· Select or develop teaching aids such as training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials, and reference works.

· Conduct training sessions covering specified areas such as on-the-job training, refresher training, etc.

· Assist employees with problems concerning "how to" perform specific tasks related to their Manufacturing process.

· Leverage exiting development programs and materials to ensure development of key roles within Teleflex Medical.  These key roles would include managers, supervisors and individuals within lead positions.  Development focus would include managing and leading, coaching, constructive feedback, interpersonal communication, etc.

· Partner with HR to ensure development priorities are tied to the Performance Management Process.

· Make suggestions on improving work procedures.

· Develop strong relationship with all departments to develop course materials and receive feedback.

· Conduct an annual training survey to evaluate an assessment of Teleflex Medical

· Coordinate training schedule with the hiring and training demands of the Manufacturing Facility.

· Develop and maintain the Training Matrix, as it relates to FDA regulations and Standard Operating Procedures for Training.

· Manage implementation and coordination of key development initiatives to establish repeatable and track able processes and results metrics. OTHER POSITION REQUIREMENTSFour year degree in related field.Minimum of seven years related experience in manufacturing environments with prior FDA, OSHA/safety experience.An excellent facilitator who is experienced in resolving conflict between different parties. Strong consultative relationship building with leaders and employees. Ability to establish credibility and get along with diverse personalities, tactful, mature and flexible.Demonstrated ability to effectively assess training and development needs, design, develop, and implement development initiatives.A decisive individual who possesses a results oriented focus but can also balance the needs of the business with the needs of the individual.Resourceful and well organized. High energy level, comfortable performing multifaceted projects in conjunction with day to day activities.Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to employee groups and/or management at all levels of the company.Ability to create and maintain highest levels of confidentiality when dealing with proprietary information and sensitive situations.Excellent computer skills (MS Word, Excel & PowerPoint) a must.Ability to travel via air and overnight stays when required.
