We are looking for a Trade Show and Events Manager to become the newest member of the Marketing Team located in our Bothell, WA headquarters. Under some supervision, the successful candidate will manage all aspects of trade show programs and special events, and serve as a key marketing representative at conferences, workshops and other events.
Responsibilities:
· Works in conjunction with Sr. Marketing Manager, Brand Directors, Creative Director and VP of Marketing to optimize overall trade show program and specific trade show programs as assigned. Ensures “excellence in execution” on trade show programs.
· Works with Sr. Marketing Manager to fully plan assigned shows, conferences, events, etc.
· Oversees trade show and event related logistics for assigned conferences. Works with Trade Show Coordinator to accomplish logistics, including show services, hotel accommodations, shipping, transportation, etc. Responsible for detailed check lists and due dates.
· Fully responsible for management, maintenance and tracking of all trade show assets for the Trade Show Team. Works with the Trade Show coordinator to track items.
· Manages all technical show requirements by leveraging in-house and vendor resources.
· Leads planning meetings for assigned conferences; assists in planning meetings of larger shows.
· Leads required communications with co-workers, vendors and associations during planning, implementation and follow-up phase of every meeting.
· Works directly with Creative Team, and Brand Directors and serves as liaison to vendors to communicate requirements for design and production of trade show graphics.
· Confirms with Creative Team that pre-show direct mail is done and on time.
· Coordinates with Brand Directors and Customer Care that lead packets by appropriate audience are defined, in the Master Control document system, and ready for assembly before the start of the conference.
· Ensures trade show related web content is up-to-date and complete on the Verathon website.
· Attends trade shows as assigned, to coordinate on-site show process from installation through dismantle. Manages Verathon team members and vendors on site for installation and dismantle.
· Handles any press needs at the show, helping to facilitate interviews with CEO or VMC President, if VP of Marketing or Brand Director is not present.
· Maintains individual meeting budget within the overall trade show budget guidelines. Notifies Sr. Marketing Manager in advance of any potential for overages.
· Overseas shipper relationships and negotiates any conflicts.
· Measures and tracks specific show results. Recommends improvements and action steps.
· Performs research to investigate potential conferences; their audiences, event facilities, entertainment, transportation and all other aspects related to trade shows, training events, meetings and other special events.
· Demonstrates strong product knowledge across all brands, and can comfortably demo products. Understands customer targets and can assist Sales where appropriate.
· Assists Sr. Marketing Manager on development of new booth assets, new demo assets, etc.
Requirements:
· College Degree; Marketing and Business preferred.
· 4-7 years in trade shows; 2-4 years specifically at management level
· Proven track record; gets results
· Excellent organizational skills and project management skills. Outstanding attention to detail.
· Strong capacity to multi-task. Can prioritize objectives and programs, and meet aggressive deadlines.
· Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills. Excellent listening skills.
· Great problem solving and decision making skills; Excellent judgment
· Independent thinker that takes initiative.
· Adept negotiator. Cool under pressure
· Ability to work closely with marketing team members, across departments and with all levels of management to facilitate trade show and event planning in accordance with plan objectives and marketing strategies.
· Solid experience working in close partnership with sales. Professional demeanor
· Solid brand management skills/experience
· Fiscally responsible. Can manage budgets for optimal results.
· Medical device or health care experience preferred.
· Willing to personally roll up sleeves and get the job done. Self motivated with strong work ethic.
· Strong creative skills - a real plus.
· Experience working in a dynamic, fast-paced, high growth environment.
Other:
· Expert at MSFT Office, PowerPoint, etc.
· Onyx and Master Control knowledge a plus
· 20 - 45% domestic travel
