JOB DESCRIPTION:
Work closely with outside counsel and their administrators, and with various Stryker Orthopaedics departments and/or divisions of Stryker -- both in the United States and abroad -- to fulfill duties associated with the trademark portfolio.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform business risk analysis associated with proposed marks;Investigate and make go/no-go decisions for proposed marks;Provide trademark guidance to in-house clients (US and abroad);Review incoming correspondence for proper action;Maintaining Work in Process docket;Perform preliminary searches using USPTO, Google and other websites, prior to engaging outside counsel;Assess and collect data for trademark applications;Evaluate and make decisions on trademark portfolio;Prepare Office Action responses;Retrieve trademark specimens, execute powers of attorney, declarations, affidavits of use, and/or other documents as necessary for trademark submissions and maintenance;Maintain and continuously improve trademark portfolio process;Evaluate business risk for decisions for Notices of Opposition;Evaluate product labels, brochures and/or other literature, as needed, for proper use of trademarks;Research and evaluate files and/or work with other personnel for responses to inquiries from counsel.Stryker is an equal employment opportunity/affirmative action employer committed to hiring a diverse workforce.To read more about Stryker, please visit our website at www.stryker.com
