Job Description Windows Desktop Intern Windows Desktop Intern SUMMARY:General knowledge computer hardware, Microsoft operating systems, and Microsoft Applications responsibilities by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. • Supports, installs, upgrades, and configures desktop operating systems including Windows • Support the Help Desk function in resolving user related Hardware or Software problems • Document activities, procedures, and infrastructure diagrams • Remote Field Support (Laptop) for VPN Access and remote deployment • May install, maintain, monitors server based data and programs. . • May Install, upgrade, monitor, and administer messaging systems including e-mail, and network facsimile. • May supports network infrastructure including network hubs, switches, and telecommunication equipment. • Creation, maintenance, and retrieval of all PC images. • Prepare, test and implement Software Deployment Projects • Recommends any infrastructure changes to improve performance, cost, or functionality. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: • Working towards an Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two (2) years + related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. • Knowledge of the WINDOWS OS environments. • Knowledge of Internetworking, LAN/WAN, Switches, and Routers. • Knowledge of the MS OFFICE product family. • Working knowledge of Active Directory, SQL, Exchange, Veritas, and Ghost preferred. • MCSA certification preferred.
