Position Title:  Director of Internal Audit

 

Reports to (Position Title):  Chief Auditor of Icahn Enterprises (Functionally)

  CFO of PSC Metals (Administratively)

Company Overview:

PSC Metals is engaged principally in the buying, selling, and processing of both ferrous and non-ferrous scrap for its own account and for the accounts of others on a North American basis, and providing on-site mill services in partnership with some of the world's best-known and largest steel producers.  Our recycling operations are strategically located throughout North America, complemented by a scrap brokerage network of highly experienced traders and by mill service operations.

 

The Company is a scrap solutions provider, maximizing value by cross-marketing its complementary services and expertise to steel mini mills, integrated steel producers, foundries and scrap metal generators.

 

The Company has one of the largest scrap collection and processing networks in North America.  Operations are classified into five main business segments: recycling operations, brokerage, secondary plate, secondary pipe and mill services.  A dedicated Logistics and Transportation department with the expertise to execute supply chain management via rail, highway, barge and vessel supports the Operations.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

· Maintain an effective internal audit department.

· Develop and implement an integrated audit plan based on risk assessments, including fraud risk assessment.

· Plan, organize and execute audits that support organizational goals and objectives.

· Oversee and support SOX 404 efforts.

· Prepare and issue audit reports that document audit scope, procedures, findings and recommendations.

· Appraise the adequacy of Management’s action plans to implement internal audit recommendations.

· Evaluate compliance with established policies and procedures.

· Provide internal control leadership and support on decisions affecting the internal control environment of the Company.

· Work closely with the Company’s external auditors, including coordinating the annual risk based audit plan and SOX initiatives with the objective of increasing the effectiveness of the audit function.

· Effectively communicate with and educate management on the importance of an effective control environment and the role of Internal Audit.

· Participate in the Operating Committee to keep all members of the Committee informed of issues that may affect the control environment of the business.

· Stay abreast of the regulatory environment as it applies to the Company.

· Perform special examinations, reviews or investigations at the request of the Chief Auditor.

· Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the Company at its discretion from time to time

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

· Experience managing successful SOX 404 implementation and ongoing compliance.

· Manufacturing background preferred.

· Possess strong leadership skills, including the ability to take charge, motivate others, interact with senior management, establish objectives and drive results.

· Demonstrate superior communication skills and have the ability to build strong working relationships with Management.

· Ability to remain independent.

· Ability to travel to multi state locations a minimum of 30%.

· SAI or similar ERP experience preferred.

 

Experience and Credentials

· Minimum 10 years experience in external or internal audit.  Public accounting experience preferred.

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.  MBA desirable.

· CPA or CIA designation.
