Description



Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:Responsible for inspecting one or more operating/production facilities to observe environmental conditions such as road dust/suppression,  observing water discharges, and collecting samples; Being observant of fugitive dust emissions and sources, and responding appropriately; Observing activities to assure continued compliance with permits, regulations, and procedures and protocols; Recommend appropriate action to assure conformation with federal, state, and municipal legislation and regulators regarding environmental control of acceptable levels of pollution; Preparation of reports and various correspondence with state and federal regulatory agencies; Serve as liaison between the organization and regulatory agencies concerned with environmental control; Have ability to understand technical information and processes in a heavy manufacturing environment; Conduct environmental audits of operations as well as recordkeeping and procedural evaluations; Provide training to employees on regulatory requirements, company policies, compliance standards, procedures and initiatives; Maintain records, instrumentation, sampling apparatus; Collect samples as required by provisions of permits.Required Skills

Qualified candidates will have a minimum of 1 to 2 years experience in an environmental role within a heavy manufacturing environment; Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor's degree in environmental science or related field; Knowledge of environmental rules and regulations, including being familiar with applicable permits, regulations, procedures, and protocols; Ability to manage and communicate to various groups about the company position relating to environmental issues; Excellent written and oral communication skills; Strong computer skills in Microsoft applications and other appropriate software.
