Summary:This position is responsible for learning the metal recycling business through extensive training and development. This position is geared to prepare future top level managers for CMC Recycling.  Buyers are responsible for the day-to-day purchase pricing for both ferrous and non-ferrous metal for a Fortune 500 Recycling Operation as well as other duties.   Responsibilities: Responsible for all industrial sourcing activities from lead generation through close in an assigned territory. With guidance from Management, develops and implements a Marketing Plan which will meet both personal and business goals of expanding the customer base within the marketing area. Works with the buying/sourcing and support teams to ensure customer satisfaction, revenue generation, and long-term account goals with company vision and values in mind. Demonstrates buying /selling skills and product knowledge. Develops annual business plan in conjunction with the Branch Manager/Marketing Manager, which details activities to follow during the fiscal year, which will focus the industrial buyer on meeting or exceeding buying/sourcing quotas. Complete understanding of pricing and proposal models. Demonstrates the ability to converse with business owners and decision makers. Maximizes all opportunities in the process of closing a deal resulting in the taking of market share from competitors. Buys consultatively and recommends to prospects and clients various solutions the company offers to improve or resolve their business issues. Develops a database of qualified leads through referrals, telephone canvassing, face to face cold calling, direct mail, email, and networking. Assists in the implementation of company marketing plans as needed. Responsible for sourcing and developing client relationships and referrals. Demonstrates the ability to gather, submit detailed business information for underwriting, pricing, and presentation of creative solutions to identified prospects' business problems. Maintains accurate records of all buying/sourcing and prospecting activities including sales calls, presentations, closed sales, and follow-up activities within their assigned territory, including the use of Microsoft Outlook to maintain accurate records to maximize territory potential. Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team. Participates and contributes in the development of educational programs offered to clients, prospects and company employees. Qualifications:  Four year degree (Business Degree preferred) and 3+ years experience Experience in sales or buying within the Recycling Industry or other industries is a plus Willingness to travel and possibly relocate.
