Measurement Service Technician Supervisor

 

 

 

Summary

 

Supervise and coordinate Service Technicians and assist when necessary with (Installs, calibrations, and maintain metering stations test schedules).

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

· Supervise and coordinate Service Technicians

· Recommend staff levels (number of technicians needed) and compensation for technicians.

· Supervise maintaining adequate levels of supplies and maintaining of equipment used in providing service.

· Assure quality and timeliness of customer service.

· Communicate regularly with Measurement Superintendent on status and developments concerning service technicians.

· Respond to customer requests and address customer needs proactively.

· Help train and develop service technicians to meet prescribed standards and serve as their technical advisor and career path counselor.

· Assign tasks to service technicians for optimum quality performance.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

 

Direct supervision varies throughout different areas of the company.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

 

 

Education and/or Experience  

 

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Must be qualified to install, configure, calibrate and troubleshoot various makes and models of electronic flow computers and gas monitors.  Must have basic knowledge of AGA standards and volume calculation method and troubleshooting volume discrepancies

 

Language Skills

 

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence related to the measurement industry.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

 

Mathematical Skills

 

Ability to calculate amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
