Stainless Steel Research Engineer

AK Steel, a leading producer of  carbon, stainless and electrical steels, has an immediate opening for an Engineer in its Research & Technology Center located in Middletown, Ohio.  Responsibilities Perform metallurgical and process analysis to support Stainless Steel product/process development, productivity, and quality improvement programs.  Organize and carry out laboratory and plant-based experiments.  Typical assignments include: developing new stainless steel products working with plant personnel to commercialize new products identifying root cause of customer and plant quality problems  Requirements Will require 20% travel.  The ideal candidate will have a  B.S., M.S. or Ph.D. degree in Metallurgical or Materials Science.  Experience and/or interest in Stainless Steel physical metallurgy, processing, and product and process development.  We are located centrally between the cities of Cincinnati and Dayton, Ohio.  We offer a competitive salary and excellent benefits, including 401K.
