Traffic Manager/ Fleet Manager



 

Job Description:



Schedules, assigns, and directs drivers and vehicles.

Coordinates drivers according to customer requests in compliance with DOT regulations and company rules

Communicates with customers to determine driver needs and schedules and notifies drivers of assignments; enters assignment data in computer database.

Requires 2-4 years of prior fleet management experience and must be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a distribution center. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required so that we meet customer expectations.

Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals to perform a variety of tasks.

Responsible for reviews and disciplinary action of drivers.

Monitors daily inspection reports of all units and promptly addresses critical safety issues.

 



 

Responsibilities:



Daily routing and route compliance of deliveries and pick ups



Insure drivers are in compliance with all DOT regulations and Company policies



Assign and direct drivers each day



Experience with routing software and truck tracking systems



Must have excellent written and spoken communication skills



Must be able to interact with all levels of management



Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook



Must be flexible and willing to work "off schedule" on occasion
