Yard Supervisors

Sims Metal Management (formerly Metal Management, has earned its reputation as a global metal recycling company.  We are currently seeking to hire YARD SUPERVISORS for 1st & 2nd shifts in Chicago.

Position Description:
The ideal candidates will supervise yard operations and the processing of scrap as efficiently and safely as possible. You will work with department staff, as well as organization wide-staff, vendors & suppliers and clients & customers.  Responsible for training and directing employees in proper use of equipment in areas of safety, operations and material identification. Knowledge of the working of a scrap yard.

Experience/Requirements:
3-5 years of scrap metal management experience preferred. Strong written & verbal communication skills as well as excellent problem solving skills.  Experience working with union environment required.
