Accountant

Job Purpose:

Responsible for preparing all accounting transactions and reporting.

  Prepare all accounting transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, and other adjustments. Heavy data entry in accounts payable and accounts receivable required. Prepare all necessary general ledger journal entries, adjustments and account reconciliations. Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and financial statements for review by Vice President of Finance, President and Board of Directors. Ability to manage computerized invoices, payments, reconciliations and review purchases for appropriateness. Work with non administrative staff members to coordinate purchasing and bill payment. Assist with payroll and bank deposits if necessary. Assist with annual audit and IRS year end reporting.

 

Skills/Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. Minimum of three years experience in accounting. Strong communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic computer knowledge. Experience with Blackbaud's Accounting for Non Profits or Financial Edge a plus.
