So if you're considering a rewarding career, consider the American Heart Association.We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Director in our Shreveport, LA office. The primary function will be to provide administrative, logistical, event planning and some fundraising support to the Division Director in the Alexandria, LA office and volunteers. Major responsibilities include:'Administrative duties in areas of finance, reports, vendors, events, event and office supplies, office equipment, and answering phones.'Maintains up-to-date sponsorship, logistics and committee/board information.'Recruits and cultivates fundraising 'C' companies.'Recruits volunteer assistance.'Responsibility for administrative activities and meeting management of Community Boards and Leadership Circles.The American Heart association is dedicated to diversity in the workplace. EOE M/F/D/V Bachelor's degree or in pursuit of one.Prior administrative and/or event planning and/or non-profit experience.Ability to recruit and train office and day-of-event volunteers.Excellent computer skills.Ability to work independently and sometimes irregular hours.Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks/Detail oriented.Ability to lift 20-30 pounds.Willingness to occasionally travel.
