Associate Director of Development

Mosaic Community Services seeks a highly qualified individual for the Associate Director of Development vacancy.  This position is responsible for developing, implementing and managing a comprehensive, systematic donor relations strategy.  The focus of this work will be identifying potential donors and securing, cultivating and growing major gifts.  Management of a major capital campaign is also likely.

Individual is responsible for strengthening and building the organization’s individual donor base. The Associate Director of Development will manage a portfolio of current and prospective donors. Department responsibilities also include individual donor prospect research, foundation and corporate donor prospecting, grant writing for all grant types, additional writing for newsletters, campaign letters, and various staff writing for the organization.

Bachelors degree required – and experience in  direct fundraising/donor relations management experience. Capital campaign development, management and success critical. Knowledge of fundraising laws and practices is desirable.

Individual should have demonstrated ability to develop, plan and implement a concrete, ambitious but achievable plan for raising major gifts with a focus on individual donor cultivation. Individual will have demonstrated a clear and strong record of quantifiable achievements that are directly attributable to the candidate. He/she must be able to translate the organization’s mission, program needs and ideas into a fund development plan that when implemented offers measurable benchmarks. Must be able to work independently as well as a member of a team. Strong written and oral communication skills are required.
