Camp Counselor- Mission Trip Leader

Lead Short-term mission trips for Church Youth groups in the rural counties of Tennessee.  We are looking for staff with group handling skills.  You will be overseeing the logistics of a week-long home repair mission trip for churches from many different denominations. 

 We also take the groups out rock climbing, rappeling, caving and/or white water rafting (and we provide the training to lead these activities).  Some construction experience (repair work) is helpful, but group skills (coaching/teaching/leading) are more important.  You may be leading devotions in the mornings, but primarily you will be overseeing the logistics of the worksites, the campsite (where the group is camping all week, and the food for the week.

 

This position requires the ability to think on your feet and handle many different types of scenarios.  It is not the regular "camp counselor" job, it is a "counselor" job on steroids (many more responsibilities).

 

First Aid and CPR are required (you can get them here), as well as a driver's license.  You must be a Christian (you will be required to lead occasional devotions) and you must have at least one year of college under your belt.

 

We repair houses for widows, the elderly, and the handicapped and require no payment for these repairs.  What better way to spend a summer.  We also have a program called the "Mystery Trip" in which you might be able to work.
