Communications Coordinator

The Indianapolis Zoo is looking for an experienced public relations professional to join the team in a fast-paced, high energy environment working with the media!  The Communications Coordinator has the primary responsibility for media relations, including writing and servicing of news releases, placement of feature stories, request fulfillment, and coordination of broadcast taping and live remotes.  Prepares media materials, including use of digital still photography and videography, and must be technically proficient in editing of video for media and web use.  Must be computer literate in all Microsoft Office programs and in the electronic distribution of materials.  Ideal candidate will have at least 4-5 years experience both working in the media combined with working in a non-media public relations position.  Experience with web 2.0 programming would be a plus.  Strong writing skills are required, along with attention to detail.  College degree in related field and references required.
