Community Developer - Ripley House

Neighborhood Centers Inc. is a not-for-profit social service agency with 100 years experience serving the needs of the greater Houston area.  Our mission is to bring resources, education, and connection to underserved neighborhoods.

We are currently seeking an effective and highly motivated individual to join our Catalyst/Community Development Team as a Community Developer at our Ripley House location.  Ripley House is our flagship community center located at 4410 Navigation Road in Houston, TX.  The center houses a Charter School, health, wellness, and fitness programs,  youth and seniors programs, adult education and enrichment classes and social services programs.

As Community Developer - Ripley House, you will serve as the team leader for the facility.  Among your responsibilities will be:Creating and implementing new programs in accordance with NCI's new century model.Collaborating with the Budget Management team and monitoring funding for compliance and proper usage.Hire, schedule, train and evaluate all staff.Acts as liaison for program and services information and updates (both internally and externally).Collaborate with community leaders, religious leaders and the business community to ensure that NCI's mission and goals are in alignment with community goals and direction.

To qualify for this position you should have:A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited educational institution, a Master's Degree is strongly preferred.  Three to five years working in a social services setting.Five years personnel, program, or site management experience.One or more years working in a non-profit setting.One or more years community relations or public relations experience.Intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft applications.Previous budget management experience.Bilingual capabilities (English/Spanish).Previous experience or involvement in civic leadership development, financial literacy training, immigration, adult and health education or other community development initiatives.
