Corporate Sponsorship Officer
The Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) is the premier encyclopedic museum of visual arts in the western United States. Established in 1965 as an independent institution, the museum has assembled a collection of approximately 100,000 works from around the world, spanning the history of art from ancient times to the present. Through its far-reaching collections and extensive public programming, the museum is both a resource to and a reflection of the many cultural communities and heritages in Southern California. The museum draws hundreds of thousands of visitors annually and has 85,000 adult members and 60,000 child members. It is accredited through the American Association of Museums.
Reporting to the Associate Vice President of Corporate Sponsorships & Marketing, the Corporate Sponsorship Officer is directly responsible for securing project, general operating, capital, and endowment support from corporations, and works to ensure effective cultivation and stewardship of corporate sponsors.
Some duties include: development of sponsorship solicitation strategies, negotiation of sponsorship contracts, coordination of all aspects of sponsorship fulfillment from initiation to completion including the delivery of marketing, public relations, entertainment, and hospitality benefits, indentifying corporate funding opportunities across the Museum with frequent collaboration between various departments, analyzing financial progress and prepare annual revenue and expense budgets.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree and at least three to five years of related experience and/or training; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted. Excellent writing ability, highly developed organizational skills, attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced deadline-based environment is required. Strong working knowledge of MSWord, Excel and databases plus previous experience in a not-for-profit development setting preferred.
