THE POSITION:
The Director, Corporate Partnerships will have responsibility for collaborating with the VP, Development and other development staff in meeting fundraising goals for The Tech Museum of Innovation (The Tech) as they relate to corporate giving. The Director, Corporate Partnerships will lead a comprehensive corporate development program including developing and executing strategies for prospecting, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding gifts with all types of corporate institutions.
RESPONSIBILITIES & KEY OBJECTIVES:
Corporate Development: The Director, Corporate Partnerships will build and maintain relationships with current and potential corporate donors and cultivate current donors to increase giving. Responsibilities include building a portfolio of donors and prospective donors, including managing and moving the portfolio of prospects and donors to ensure that timely steps are taken toward gift solicitation.
Within the portfolio of donors and prospective donors, perform the following duties:Plan, develop and execute corporate giving fundraising in concert with the overall Tech Strategic Development Plan.Establish annual performance and financial goals for Corporate Partnerships in conjunction with the VP, Development and develop plans to achieve those goals. Prepare and submit accurate and timely sponsorship proposals, solicitation letters, letters of intent, supporting materials and other correspondence as appropriate. Prepare and submit timely acknowledgements and program status reports to donors. Measure and evaluate effectiveness of corporate fundraising initiatives.Proactively identify potential sponsorship opportunities and initiate relationships with these entities. Strengthen existing donor relationships and build new relationships with corporate donors. Provide leadership and strategy development for activities related to the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of corporate funders.Strategize with The Tech’s exhibitions and program teams to identify prospects and obtain greater knowledge of programs and services. Recruit and steward the members of targeted specialty groups, including serving as staff liaison.Collaborating with the Marketing department in the development of marketing and public relations communications to increase awareness of The Tech through the partnership of corporate institutions. Other related duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
· Bachelor’s degree required. Advanced degree or recognized credentials from professional fundraising organizations preferred.
· Minimum five years of previous experience in major gift fund development with a strong emphasis on corporate giving.
· Proven track record securing corporate gifts.
· Demonstrated leadership experience in either a professional or volunteer organization setting.
· Demonstrated ability to influence community and business leaders through strong presentation skills.
· Demonstrated excellence in written communications.
· Demonstrated ability to build long-term, interpersonal relationships with corporate leaders.
· Demonstrated strong initiative and leadership skills; collaboration and integrated planning experience.
· Roster of current relationships with corporate executives / program managers a plus.
· Ability to meet with clients at off site locations on a regular basis.
CANDIDATE PROFILE:

· A true understanding of the development – donor relationship and how to form partnerships that lead to long-term organizational engagement.
