Director of Annual Giving

Reporting to the Vice President, Development and External Affairs, the Director of Annual Giving will manage all aspects of Goodwill’s $1million Annual Giving Program, employing strategies to increase revenues from direct mail, acquisition mail and on-line giving.  She/he is a key member of the Development team, integrating annual giving activities with major gifts, planned giving and marketing efforts, and thereby building the overall success of Goodwill’s Development Program.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

·  Plan and implement direct mail program including writing and design of direct mail packages, accurate selection of mailing lists from Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge database, strategic procurement of acquisition mailing lists and management of services of outside vendors.

 

·  Introduce creative new strategies to renew and increase former donors, acquire new donors, expand monthly giving club and build on-line giving.

 

·  Ensure timely and accurate acknowledgement of all gifts, and proper, personalized stewardship to key constituents, including Board members, multi-year donors and high-level donors.

 

·  Identify donors with potential for higher level major gift and/or planned giving support and work with the Vice President, Development and External Affairs to implement strategies to personally contact, build closer relationship with, solicit and steward those individuals.

 

·  Maintain integrity, accuracy and confidentiality of information in the donor database.

 

·  Analyze and report on weekly, monthly and year-to-date performance of the annual giving program and share with Vice President, Development and External Affairs.

 

QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate must be able to perform each responsibility with skill, initiative and enthusiasm. He/she will have a BS/BA with at least 8 to 10 years experience in successfully planning and implementing strategies to renew former donors and attract new ones, meticulous attention to detail and accuracy, the ability to handle multiple projects under tight deadlines, excellent writing skills and strong database and computer skills.
