Director of Music Ministries

Martha Bowman Memorial United Methodist Church is seeking a full time Director of Music Ministries for both traditional and praise and worship services.  We are seeking a dynamic, talented, Spirit-led musician who will help grow all aspects of our music ministry.  Our ideal candidate will develop volunteers, helping them grow spiritually as they glorify God by sharing their musical gifts, as well as strong leadership and a heart for Christian ministry. 

Overall responsibilities include:

*  overall accountability for the total music ministry of the church
*  close cooperative relationship with pastors regarding musical aspects
of worship
*  maintenance and security of music inventory
*  implementation of new and innovative methods and programs to enhance
music ministry and worship
*  music outreach to the community
*  planning and administration of music budget

Knowledge and Skills required:

*  Strong personal attributes that include a strong committment to Christian
faith, good verbal and written skills, effective planning and organizational 
skills, and a passion for worship
*  Technical competencies that include music direction, choir training skills,
music performance and familiarity with contemporary and traditional 
 styles of worship music
*  A Bachelor's degree in music or related field
*  A minimum of five years experience preferred
