Director of Volunteer Services

Give Kids The World Village (GKTW) is a 70-acre, non-profit resort in Central Florida that creates magical memories for children with life-threatening illnesses and their families.  GKTW provides accommodations at its whimsical resort, donated attractions tickets, meals and more for a week-long, cost-free fantasy vacation.  With the help of many generous individuals, corporations and partnering wish-granting organizations, Give Kids The World has welcomed more than 85,000 families from all 50 states and 60 countries.

This position oversees all aspects of Volunteer Services program throughout the Village, with direct responsibility for volunteer services management, administration and coordinators.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Define and execute departmental mission Partner with Director Corporate Development on matters of mutual importance Execute effective two-way communications with volunteer staff Oversee departmental data base Oversee staffing, training performance and delegation of duties of departmental staff Establish and maintain departmental fiscal responsibility (budgeting, payroll, operating expense control) Key liaison with all Village departments regarding volunteer issues/emergencies identifying issues/emergencies and communicating any and all items needing support and/or attention Oversee recruitment, orientation, retention, training, recognition  and continuous communications for Village volunteers Plan/execute events for Village volunteers inclusive of annual appreciation party, holiday party, appreciation week, etc.

 

Management Responsibilities:

Volunteer Services staff as well as volunteers supporting the Village

 

Qualifications:

Prefer four year degree along with minimum of 5-7 years relevant professional experience
