Director operations non-profit

The Charter Oak Chapter of the American Red Cross serves eighty three towns in Central and Southeastern Connecticut, providing relief to victims of local and national disasters and helps people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies. 

 

Currently we are seeking a Director of Emergency services to coordinate response operations for the Chapter, ensuring our overall capacity and readiness to respond, combining prompt response with appropriate human service casework management.

 

Responsibilities include:Coordination of response activitiesRecruitment, training, mentoring and scheduling of 300+ volunteersSupervision of Casework administrationManagement of Chapter on-call systemCoordination and deployment of vehicles as neededEstablish and foster positive relationships with government, private and social service agencies

Requirements:BS/BA in public health, social work or related field (Masters preferred), 3 - 5 years of management or related experienceExcellent interpersonal skills, ability to develop and maintain positive relationshipsDemonstrated success in managing volunteers, with a proven track record of creating and maintaining a highly motivated and trained teamExceptional customer service and analytical skills, with ability to manage multiple conflicting prioritiesWilling to travel in state on short notice
