GENERAL SUMMARY: Position is on the research staff of a not-for-profit government consulting organization headquartered in McLean, VA. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for conducting studies and analyses on a variety of topics relating to energy management. Work focuses on helping government clients in program planning and management; energy management; energy auditing, greening of facilities, procurement of energy services; compliance with energy-related laws, regulations and Executive Orders; related information systems; and related environmental issues. Responsible for effectively and efficiently communicating analytic results to clients. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:A master's degree in engineering or other science with application to energy and environmental issues is required. Masters degree in business, economics, finance, or public policy analysis is acceptable with an undergraduate degree or work experience in fields related to energy and environment. Specific experience in analysis of military electrical power generation and distribution systems is desired. Five or more years professional experience preferred, although exceptional candidates with fewer than five years will be considered. Professional engineer registration and Certification as Energy Manager are desired. Energy auditing experience is desired. Strong problem solving and analytical skills essential. Must be self-directed and detail oriented. Ability to effectively interact with personnel involved in policy, technical, operational and program management work. Excellent writing and verbal communication skills are required. Ability to contribute to a professional work environment by demonstrating integrity, promoting teamwork and fostering positive communication. Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships in LMI's multidisciplinary environment. Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality in all business matters required. Superior communication skills are required, both oral and written. Availability for occasional travel is required. Applicants for this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
