ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND

The LIVINGSTON COUNTY ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS (LCAR) is a non-profit trade association whose purpose is to enhance members' ability to conduct their business successfully, serve the public with integrity and competency, and to promote public policy that fosters a favorable business climate.  As of January 2008, the Association's membership totaled 700. 

LCAR is dedicated to the following:Defending the right of private property ownership.Providing its members with information on legal issues through the use of regular updates and contemporary legislative and legal news.Offering educational programs to enhance the image and knowledge of its members.Involving its members in REALTOR association leadership activities in order to impact local, state, and national agendas.Enhancing the public image through community relations strategies and actions. Promoting technology, networking, and leadership to members.

LCAR is governed by a thirteen-member board that meets monthly.  Its staff consists of an EXECUTIVE OFFICER and one staff member and is located at 5380 E. Grand River, Howell, Michigan 48843.

Executive Officer

The EXECUTIVE OFFICER provides vision and leadership necessary for the positive growth and performance of the Association.  In addition, the EXECUTIVE OFFICER recommends and participates in the formation of policies and makes decisions consistent with existing policies. 

This position also has responsibility for:Ensuring LCAR is recognized for its public policy and legal and legislative advocacy for private property rights in the real estate industry.Maintaining effective relationships with the local association members, industry leaders, and state and national REALTOR associations.Developing and carrying out LCAR'S annual goals and objectives.Managing the daily operation of staff and budget.Facilitates dispute resolution.Recommending policies and programs that enhance revenue and supports the organization's strategic initiatives.Interfacing with the multiple listing services.Evaluating and recommending technology applications.

Qualifications:

Candidates interested in this position must have three to five years of business and administrative experience with demonstrated communications, people, technology, & public speaking skills.  A Bachelor's Degree and knowledge of the real estate industry are desirable.



The salary range for this position is $50,000 - $55,000 with benefits.
