Financial Education Specialist

Consumer Credit Counseling Service is a non-profit organization that specializes in budget, credit, bankruptcy, and housing counseling.  We also offer debt management and financial education to consumers. CCCS is currently looking for a Financial Education Specialist that will be responsible for teaching consumers the basic literacy skills needed to achieve their financial goals and financial freedom. This is a temp to perm opportunity.Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

Marketing:

 

·  Markets seminars in venues that would have access to adult employee populations (i.e.; employers, colleges, churches, nonprofits, civic groups, etc.)

·  Generates publicity about CCCS and participates in media requests (print, radio, and television)

·  Participates in community fairs and events to promote CCCS programs and services

·  Conducts education via webinars to reach national audiences.

 

Service Delivery and Community Outreach:

 

·  Presents seminars to participants to increase their ability to manage personal finances and to enhance personal financial literacy. Conducts seminars covering specified areas such as Wise Use of Credit and Budgeting.

·  Instructs participants in subject matter and uses audiovisual aids and other materials to supplement presentations.

·  Product Enhancement: selects, develops, records and/or updates education materials and training documents and power point

·  Provides individual counseling for programs as needed.

·  Attends required meetings with community partners and maintains high customer satisfaction with our partners.

·  Oversee multiple CCCS education programs and work with education manager to ensure Financial Education Specialist’s goals and outcomes are being met.

Business Development:

 

·  Markets CCCS and its various lines of service and programs to prospective employers, businesses and community group with the intent to obtain a funding commitment.

·  Initiates and attends meetings and presentations to market CCCS and establish formal partnerships.

·  Generates appropriate funding for services provided and prepares funding requests as directed.

·  Maintains accurate contacts  list of corporate, government, and non-profit community partners.

 

Community Leadership:

 

·  Represents CCCS and participates in events, forums, community meetings.

 Administrative

·  Revises design of training curriculum and methods to improve effectiveness.

·  Inputs and tracks seminar data in Agency specified software programs.

·  Selects, develops and disseminates evaluation instruments to be used at completion of training in order to secure useful outcome data.

·  Submits and tracks invoices for services rendered.

·  Ability to document and pull education metrics on seminar results from web and telephone technology usage/results.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This job has no supervisory responsibilities. 

 

Qualifications:

·  Must have the proven ability to make clear and effective oral presentations. 

·  Must also have very strong writing skills including the ability to gather, edit, and consolidate materials and prepare clear, concise, and accurate reports.

·  Ability to acquire a comprehensive knowledge of CCCS policies and procedures.

·  Must have satisfactory credit.

·  Must be able to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings and/or weekends.

·  Must have the ability to travel within the state.

·  Must be a team player and maintain a positive attitude at all times.

·  Ability to use and learn to use web tools and other technologies to teach seminars and/or workshops (webinars) on-line for individuals with or without disabilities at various hours.

·  Ability to use and learn to use telephone technologies to teach seminars and/or workshops.

 

Education and/or Experience: 

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year College or University and two or more years related experience and/or training.  Must have a strong, proven computer proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet and database software.  Must be available to work a flexible schedule (working after 5:00 pm and some Saturdays). Must be able to present information clearly and concisely.
