Financial Services Associate

National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA), located in Arlington, VA (one block from the Ballston metro) and advocate for consumer-owned cooperatives on energy and policy issues, is the trade association for over 900 consumer-owned electric cooperatives with 60,000 employees serving more than 39 million people. NRECA is currently seeking a Client Services Associate to work in their Investment department.

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

·  Educate Homestead Funds shareholders and 401(k) Pension Plan participants via calls to the 800-lines. 

 

·  Describe Homestead Funds and 401(k) Pension Plan fund objectives, strategies and associated risks and direct problem resolution. 

 

·  Work with member cooperatives, the transfer agent (Boston Financial Data Services) and other NRECA divisions to ensure proper transaction processing. 

 

·  Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures which include but are not limited to the rules and regulations under the Securities Act of 1933, Securities Exchange Act of 1934, Investment Company Act of 1940 and USA Patriot Act of 2001. 

 

·  Some travel required.

 

Requirements:

 

·  One to two years of client service experience in the financial services industry is required. Two to four years is preferred.

 

·  Series 6 and 63 licenses preferred.

 

·  Must have outstanding client service skills. 

 

·  Knowledge of securities, mutual funds, 401(k) pension plans and the investments community in general is required.  Understanding of Homestead Funds, the 401(k) Pension Plan, RS Plan, and all applicable account types, distribution options and regulatory requirements is preferred.
