Fundraising Projects Coordinator

Department Overview: The Local Marketing and Development Department enables the WGBH Educational Foundation to carry out its mission by raising the necessary funds from individuals for current program support and special projects for TV and Radio and the Web. The Department develops revenue streams for WGBH TV, WGBH Radio, Cape Radio, WGBH.org, and WGBY TV. The Mid Level Giving area is responsible for four giving programs within the membership spectrum starting with members giving $60 and reaches into the major donor program with focus on marketing and relationship building with donors giving $300-$1,499 toward an annual goal of over $4 million.




Position Overview: This deadline-orientated position revolves around generating personalized, prompt and persuasive member communications for both print and web and reports to the Marketing Manager for WGBH Mid Level Giving. The Fundraising Projects Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and performing the in-house production of member communications by utilizing mail production equipment and software. This position also tracks stock, coordinates with vendors the out of house production of Mid Level Giving member communications, performing database functions and hygiene (within TeamApproach/BlackBaud software) as well as web communications including email and social networking activities. Responsible for supporting diversity and inclusion in the workplace and interacting in a way that is free from discrimination, intolerance or harassment.




Requirements: This position requires a creative problem solver with both strong technical and analytical skills. Attention to detail, organization, quality assurance, flexibility, and the ability to communicate in a clear manner are also required. The successfull candidate needs to be capable of working independently and within time contstraints on a variety of tasks utilizing available technologies, including: DocuMatch Systems, Team Approach/BlackBaud and Convio Online. Experience with both Macintosh and PC systems and proficiency with FileMaker Pro or Microsoft Access and Word programs are a must. Experience with HTML and email systems, social networking websites and complex relational databases is preferred. Familiarity with mailing systems and postal regulations a plus. An Associate’s or Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred. Knowledge of technology and its quirks as well marketing techniques and trends a plus.
