Grants Manager

Consumer Credit Counseling Service is a non-profit organization that specializes in budget, credit, bankruptcy, and housing counseling.  We also offer debt management and financial education to consumers. CCCS is currently looking for a Grants Manager that will be responsible for managing the timely submission of grant proposals and reports.  This position ensures that proposals are well-written, complete and targeted to appropriate funders, and that outcomes are tracked and reported accurately.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 A. Grant Writing, Research and Coordination ·  Works with Director of Development to create a strategy for corporate, foundation and government grants.

·  Supervises grant writers to ensure that grants are submitted according to the grants calendar, and the agency standards for quality and completeness are maintained.

·  Responsible for ensuring that all reports are submitted to funders in a timely manner.

· Maintains annual calendar for submitting grant proposals, recognizing grant revenue, and reporting grant outcomes to funders.

· Responsible for tracking grant outcomes and preparing monthly reports on those outcomes.

· Researches potential funding opportunities with local, regional and national foundations, corporations, and governments.

 B. Database and Materials Maintenance

· Maintains grants-related records in database, ensuring that all grant proposals are entered and progress is tracked

· Communicates with appropriate staff from other departments to track and report all revenue generated by development activities.

· Prepares monthly financial reports for grants.

 C. Internal and External Communication 

· Prepares and distributes internal departmental updates, as needed.

 Management Support 

§ Provides coaching and regular reviews to assigned team members

§ Recommend CCCS improvements that increase value and/or decrease costs

§ Recommend Development department improvements that will increase results and/or decrease costs

 

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

The Grants manager supervises staff and contractual grant writers.

 

Qualifications: 

· Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university.

· Excellent computer skills, including familiarity with databases and with Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Office programs. Experience working with donor databases preferred but not required.

· Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

· Management experience preferred.

· Four to five years related experience required.  Specifically writing corporate and foundation grants (non government grants).

· Must have satisfactory credit.
