The client, a national nonprofit organization, is seeking a Graphic/Web Artist. Using Mac and PC platforms (and corresponding desktop publishing software), the Graphic/Web Artist will design and produce print and electronic communication materials including an ongoing publication, editorial, corporate newsletters, informational brochures, advertisements, videos, animations, direct marketing pieces, sales team support items, web pages & images. This individual will also execute an internet marketing campaign, as well as proactively manage graphics for the organization’s website.
Responsibilities Develops design, layout and formatting of materials for print or electronic projects, including typesetting edits for an ongoing publication in a computer-to-plate process, brochures, collateral, advertising, direct mail, website, video editing, animation creation, tradeshow graphics and materials, corporate identity and logos. Executes internet marketing campaigns, as well as proactively manages graphics for the organization's website. Duties may include creating, editing and maintaining web graphics and multimedia and managing website change requests. Communicates organization and artistic themes in advertising, promotions, and publication production; being creative working within current style guides, templates and existing elements. Creates accurate files for production (print or electronic); make edits/changes as required, obtains necessary approvals, submits files in a timely manner, tracks production with outside publications/vendors, and report on status. Oversees the graphic execution, from art production through printing process. Maintain a working relationship with selected vendors, including independent graphic design consultants, illustrators, photographers, printer, writers, and website developers. Stays current on design and graphic/web trends and techniques and new versions of existing software programs.
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in graphic design and 4+ years experience designing and developing print and website materials. Portfolio demonstrating high level of creativity on various print projects, e.g., brochures, advertisements, direct mail, etc.
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects is essential.
Must have excellent communication skills and work well within a team.
Graphic file formats, including TIF, EPS, JPEG, GIF
Mac and PC platforms in a networked environment
All aspects of document preparation including copyediting marks, formatting and layout using styles and templates; creating tables, charts and graphs
Various printing specifications, including folds, trapping, color, resolution, and 4 color process printing
Pre-press archives, including posting files to the server and maintaining server folders
Photoshop, InDesign, Quark, Illustrator
Adobe Acrobat and creating interactive PDFs
HTML, Flash, Dreamweaver
Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
