JOB TITLE: HOPE Corps Communications and Administration Officer

ACCOUNTABILITY: Senior Vice President, HOPE Corps Director
JOB SUMMARY: Provide administrative support for SVP and provide instrumental assistance in building, maintaining and growing this new department @ Operation HOPE.
The mission of the HOPE Corps is to enable any individual that has a passion for the promotion of financial self-sufficiency, self-empowerment and HOPE to become a HERO.
HOPE Corps is Operation HOPE’s premiere volunteer network. The HOPE Corps enables our members to teach financial literacy internationally to youth and adults through Banking on Our Future, HOPE Coalition America and the HOPE Banking Center Network. HOPE Corps is a passionate network of individuals, committed to empowerment through financial education. HOPE Corps’s mission is to create a structured base of support for all volunteers. We listen to the passions and experience of our members to help them find just the right volunteer experience. We walk them through the process of becoming HOPE Corps members by providing information about our 3 core volunteer-based programs. We guide them to a HOPE representative in their community and we provide all necessary materials to ensure a positive and rewarding volunteer experience with HOPE. And lastly, we serve as a resource and a network of support to continually encourage and recognize our HOPE Corps Members for their heroic acts of community service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (of the job include but are not limited to the following. Additional duties may be assigned.)
Provide administrative support for the Senior Vice President. Including scheduling meetings, booking travel, sending and managing departmental communications, filing and processing expense reports.Assist in building departmental processes and procedures.Utilizing data management system(s) to create templates for and regularly compile HOPE Corps reportsData entry
§ Assist in the organization-wide database conversion process that is coming up in 2008.Work with SVP to determine and execute volunteer intake communication systems cross-departmentallyPosting volunteer opportunities on all online volunteer recruitment outlets.Conducting internet research to identify all online volunteer recruitment sources.Working with SVP to compose (write and edit letters and other program marketing collateral) and execute mailings to market Operation HOPE and the HOPE Corps program.With the help of the SVP, conducting internet research to compile lists for mailings and make other market analyses.Compose and send Quarterly e-Newsletters for the HOPE Corps departmentHandle HOPE Corps related emails and phone calls that come into the corporate officeFarm out volunteers that inquire on the Operation HOPE website to the proper program leads and field and manage volunteers that come in from areas where there are no officesOrder, reproduce, maintain and HOPE Corps collateralWork with SVP and program staff to plan and coordinate volunteer recognition events
SKILLSStrong organizational, written and verbal communication skillsExperience working with Excel, Microsoft Publisher, Word and PowerPointGeneral office, administrative experience required Data Management preferredExperience in marketing and/or graphic design a plus
