Help Desk and Data Management Coordinator

The Help Desk Support and Data Coordinator is a full-time position with two major components: 1) to provide help desk support, troubleshooting, and training to local YouthBuild programs to submit data through YouthBuild USA’s web-based student tracking application (WebSTA) and through the US Department of Labor’s YouthBuild Case Management Tool; 2) to assist and support the Associate Director for Data Management with tasks related to data collection and data management, such as updating contact information.  While much of the training and technical assistance is provided by telephone and email, the job involves travel in the U.S.for site visits and participation in national trainings and regional gatherings.

 The Coordinator will report to the Associate Director for Data Management and will work closely with the Data Manager for Training and Technical Support to ensure that high-quality, well-coordinated technical assistance is provided to local YouthBuild programs as they meet the data needs of YouthBuild USA and other funders.  Primary Responsibilities:Provide  first-time users with telephone training on the WebSTA data system and the DOL YouthBuild MIS Provide other training and technical support for YouthBuild program staff who are using WebSTA, the DOL YouthBuild MIS and the web-based HUD quarterly site surveyWork with YouthBuild affiliates to ensure timely and complete submission of dataTroubleshoot problems with WebSTAAssist with administrative duties related to WebSTA and other types of data collection, including mailings and maintenance of user listsEnsure accurate contact information of all users of the data systems supported by the Data Management TeamEnter and update other YouthBuild USA data as needed including important information about YouthBuild programs.As part of the Knowledge Management Department, work to establish and achieve goals related to YouthBuild USA’s overall Knowledge Management System

 
Required Skills and Abilities:High level of proficiency with technologyExperience providing technical support for database or other software applications by telephone and email Top-notch customer service skills and infinite patienceExperience leading one-on-one and small- to medium-sized group training on technical tasksExperience using databases and basic knowledge of relational database conceptsProficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications

· Ability to learn quickly and deliver quality finished products on deadline

· Strong organizational skills and ability to work on several concurrent projects

· A record of accomplishment working in diverse, entrepreneurial, fast-paced, and team-oriented environments

· A demonstrated ability to think and act strategically, tactically, and creatively

· Excellent oral and written communication skillsWillingness to work as a member of a high performing team

· Experience with, or interest in working for, a nonprofit organization

· Flexibility and a sense of humor
