The Animal Medical Center, a full service veterinary hospital on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, is accepting applications for a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our Diagnostic Imaging Department.

 

This is an opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art facility and experience a diverse and challenging caseload.

 

The Animal Medical Center is one of the nation’s largest facilities for animal care, research, and education, open 24 hours per day, 365 days a year, with over 50,000 visits annually.

 

Responsibilities Include:

~  Preparing patients for procedures, including ADMINISTRATION of ANESTHESIA

~  Safely producing high quality radiographic images, including MRI/CT

~  Assisting supervisors, managers and veterinarians with patient care and technical operations of the Department of Daignostic Imaging

~  Performing data entry and completing all necessary paperwork

~  Assuring that the department is organized, clean and well-stocked

~  Providing direction and guidance to assistants

~  All other related duties as assigned

 

Requirements

~ Must possess a Veterinary Technician’s License (LVT)

~ Experience with and knowledge of imaging modalities, equipment maintenance and PACS helpful, but not necessary

~ General computer skills are essential

~ Must have excellent interpersonal skills

~ Must be able to safely restrain/lift animals up to 50 lbs.

~ Must be able to work a flexible full time schedule, including some weekends

 

Salary is commensurate with experience.
