Woods Services, formerly known as The Woods Schools, is a private, non-profit organization licensed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and has been recognized as one of the most respected and comprehensive programs of its kind. Woods serves more than 1200 people with special needs, most who live on or near the main campus in Langhorne, Pennsylvania. Since its founding in 1913, Woods has been a pioneer of, and continues to be a model for, quality care in the field of developmental disabilities.

Summary

Responsible for the maintaining a safe and healthy enviroment for swimming. Responsible for teaching groups during instructional swim periods. Responsible for supervising clients during recreational swim periods.

Requirements

High school degree required. Current driver's license perferred. Minimum of one year experience with Developmentally Disabled preferred. Current certification in Advanced Lifesaving or Lifeguard Training from American Red Cross, YMCA, or Ellis and Associates, CPR and First Aid required. Pesticide Applicator's license perferred. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Must be able to hear an active victim's cry for help and see a passive victim in trouble. Must be agile, physically able to pursue clients on foot, physically restrain, bend, squat, stretch, reach, push up and stand for several hours at a time. Must be able to read, write, enter dates and follow verbal/written driections, prepare wtitten reports, and complete written forms in English.
