GENERAL SUMMARY: Position is on the research staff of a not-for-profit government consulting organization headquartered in McLean, VA. Work will be accomplished in LMI's McLean office, may include some work at the Pentagon. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for conducting studies and analyses on a variety of topics related to maintenance/logistics management (for equipment, systems and sub-systems, e.g., aircraft fleets, vehicle fleets, and ships) and industrial operations (e.g., maintenance production, resources, reliability, programming, and financial management). The purpose of the studies and analyses are to provide improved maintenance and logistics support by proposing policy, procedures or doctrine, as well as analysis in the areas of business decisions, programmatic planning, revised business processes, technical or business process architectures, and information systems requirements. This position is also responsible for effectively communicating the results of the studies and analyses to sponsoring senior officials through written reports and oral presentations. Initial assignments will entail maintenance programs and industrial processes, assessment of sustainment value chain operations, management of logistics-related models, and development of related logistics strategic plans or proposals for business process and information system improvements. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree in engineering, business management, operations research, information systems, or similar discipline preferred. Knowledge of weapon systems engineering and maintenance, program management, process improvement disciplines, reliability analysis, modeling, logistics automation systems, military organization and structure, and logistics operations. 5-10 years experience in military maintenance or logistics operations. U.S. Military background, preferably including maintenance experience, acquisition corps certification. Applicants for this position may be subjected to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Please note that only US Citizens are eligible to obtain security clearances. Fluency in project management tools such as Microsoft Project or equivalent. OIF/OEG/GWOT experience required.
