Major Gifts Officer

Pegasus Therapeutic Riding www.pegasusTR.org seeks Major Gifts Officer to join expanding development team.



Based in Brewster, NY close to the junction of I-84 and 684, Pegasus provides the therapeutic benefits of horseback riding and other equine assisted activities to physically, emotionally, and developmentally challenged individuals at facilities and stables in the states of New York and Connecticut.



Responsibilities:



Develop portfolio of individual and corporate donors and prospective donors; solicit gifts over the phone and face-to-face; screen and research prospects; prepare written donor materials and direct mail appeals. Coordinate selective fundraising events; manage design, printing and mailing of event materials.



 

  Qualifications/skills required:

4 year bachelor’s degree; 5 years relevant paid employment experience, excellent interpersonal skills; knowledge of data processing, development systems and procedures; ability to plan, organize and communicate effectively; ability to work with little direct supervision, manage multiple tasks at the same time and maintain a high level of follow through; familiarity with word processing and spreadsheet software; excellent oral and written communication skills.
