The University of Pittsburgh/UPMC Medical and Health Sciences Foundation seeks a dynamic individual to lead development initiatives at the McGowan Institute for Regenerative Medicine, (MIRM) a joint enterprise with UPMC and the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. The Major Gifts Officer will develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies for direct identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of individual major gift prospects, including grateful patients. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in major gift acquisitions. The candidate best suited to this post will bring enthusiasm, creativity, energy, and the ability to understand complex medical and engineering initiatives and then translate them to prospective donors. Minimum Requirements: The candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree (Master's degree preferred) and have at least five years direct fundraising/development and volunteer management experience, preferably in a healthcare, education, or non-profit setting. Consideration will be given to experience in a related field with transferable skills. Broad knowledge of the principles of individual fund raising is expected. The candidate will be able to understand the needs and interests of major gift prospects and donors in order to develop relationships between them and MIRM. The candidate will possess an interest in the mission of MIRM and promote fund raising initiatives through the development of excellent working relationships with faculty, senior academic leaders, trustees and other volunteers. The gift officer must be able to work under pressure of deadlines and financial goals. Occasional weekend and evening work will be required. About MIRM: The McGowan Institute for Regenerative Medicine serves as a single base of operations from which the university's leading researchers and physicians develop new, highly sophisticated ways to repair tissues and organs impaired by disease, trauma, or congenital abnormalities. In addition, the Institute educates scientists and engineers who develop cutting-edge technologies related to regenerative medicine. The MIRM also serves as the main educational center for clinicians in the use of regenerative therapies. At the same time the MIRM commercializes new technologies it develops thus allowing patients to optimally benefit from these new discoveries. Additional Information: UPMC, a $7 billion integrated health system based in Pittsburgh, PA, is internationally recognized for clinical excellence and, with its academic partner, the University of Pittsburgh, is at the forefront in leading-edge health sciences research and training. Together these institutions are changing the future of academic medicine. The Medical and Health Sciences Foundation manages fundraising for this enterprise. As a member of the Medical and Health Sciences Foundation team, you will be affiliated with UPMC, which is ranked among the nation's best hospitals by U.S. News & World Report, and the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, ranked 7th in National Institutes of Health funding. A progressive work environment, generous retirement plan, excellent medical benefits, tuition reimbursement and tuition benefits for dependents are just a few of the many available benefits.

THE UNIVERSITY OF PITTSBURGH IS AN AFFIRMATIVE ACTION / EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER.
