NURSE CONSULTANT

“Nurse Consultant” – Clinical
 POSITION SUMMARY 

Provides consultation, education, and technical assistance within an interdisciplinary team process as it relates to the health needs of persons with developmental disabilities or at-risk of developing a disability.  Assesses consumers’ medical and nursing needs as an aspect of the judicial review process for selected consumers in developmental centers.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE


Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited university nursing program AND three years of nursing practice, two of which have been in supervised clinical area of developmental disabilities, pediatrics, or community health and one year which had been in administration, education or consultation. Substantial equivalents may be substituted for the above requirements.

Master's degree in nursing from an accredited graduate school of nursing with a major in one of the following: community health, psychiatric-mental health consultation, pediatric nursing and/or education AND two years of supervised experience including one year with persons with developmental disabilities.

Valid California RN license, California driver's license, current automobile insurance, and adequate transportation are required.
