Description of Duties:
In a shelter setting, conduct mental health assessments via active engagement and daily contact with “guests” of the shelter in order to provide encouragement to accept psychiatric/housing services. Worker will maintain the client intake database, keep accurate written and electronic case files, communicate effectively with collateral agencies and providers, perform community outreach to program eligible individuals, provide assistance with obtaining/ initiating entitlements and participate in on-going project enhancement. Compile project activity data and complete quarterly reports to the City of Chicago Department of Human Services. Actively participate in external meetings such as annual audits that benefit the project. Insure the promotion of recovery based services.

Qualifications and Experience Required:
Experience and knowledge of issues confronting individuals struggling with homelessness, ability to communicate effectively within a total-team setting, serve as a strong ally and advocate with individuals served.  Demonstrated computer proficiency, competency important. 

Drivers license, automobile and 100,000/300,000 liability insurance required  

Education Requirements:  Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred.
