Program Coordinator, Mt. Vernon Early Childhood Matters Initiative

Large, not for profit, organization searching for a full-time Program Coordinator for our Early Childhood Matters Initiative, in Mt. Vernon, NY.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

The Program Coordinator shares in the responsibility of development, implementation and management of Mount Vernon Early Childhood Initiative Funded By Frog Rock Foundation.

JOB DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTI ONS:Develops and implements initiatives reflecting community needs and program goalsDevelops and maintains contacts with City/County agencies, community organizations, educational institutions and health service providers who provide supportive services to families with young childrenAttends professional meetings as necessaryMakes presentations to community as necessaryOther duties as assigned

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND ATTRIBUTES:Strong administrative, leadership and team building skillsAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships and to relate well with community leaders, supervisors, agency staff and others.Strong organizational skills and ability to work independentlyKnowledge of Developmentally Appropriate PracticePossession of drivers' licenseAbility to drive and provide own transportation throughout Westchester CountyAbility to develop business planAbility to provide community educationGood communication and writing skillsAbility to work with a diverse populationAbility to communicate in English, both orally and writtenCommitment to agency mission and program goals and objectives

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION:College Degree an/or minimum 8 year work experience in mediaExperience working with a diverse populationKnowledge of community resourcesExcellent communication and team building skills
